There are many varieties of plants that are routinely available in West Virginia garden centers, including a few examples below.
The American beech has a Mid Spring bloom period. Propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed, the fruit/seed period of the American beech lasts from Summer to Fall.
The American beech requires between 28 and 80 inches of rain per annum. It is Native to WV.
Surviving in temperatures above -44°F, the American beech is in the Beech family. It’s scientific name is Fagus grandifolia, and it has a High drought tolerance.
While a plant may be listed as fruit-bearing in West Virginia, you might not have the best growing conditions in your specific area.
