You might find the following plants in a Texas food forest. These are all routinely available through many garden suppliers.

Known as having a High drought tolerance, the littleleaf sumac (Rhus microphylla) is in the Sumac family. It requires a minimum temperature of -13°F.

The fruit/seed period of the littleleaf sumac runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Cuttings, Seed and has a bloom period in Spring.

In areas with an annual rainfall of between 8 and 26 inches, you might find the littleleaf sumac, which is Native to TX.

Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Texas will thrive in your specific climate or area.
