Native to SC, the muscadine is common in food forests. It grows in areas with a minimum of 35 inches of annual rainfall.
A member of the Grape family, the common name for Vitis rotundifolia is muscadine. Requiring a minimum temperature of -18°F, it has a Medium tolerance of drought.
You may live in a micro-climate or area of South Carolina where some species don’t thrive or fruit.
