You might find the following plants in a New York food forest. These are all routinely available through many garden suppliers.
Known as having a Low drought tolerance, the common pear (Pyrus communis) is in the Rose family. It requires a minimum temperature of -18°F.
The fruit/seed period of the common pear runs from Summer to Summer. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Cuttings, Seed and has a bloom period in Early Spring.
In areas with an annual rainfall of between 35 and 55 inches, you might find the common pear, which is Introduced to NY.
