You might find the following plants in a New York food forest. These are all routinely available through many garden suppliers.
In areas with an annual rainfall of between 22 and 80 inches, you might find the sugar maple, which is Native to NY.
Known as having a Medium drought tolerance, the sugar maple (Acer saccharum) is in the Maple family. It requires a minimum temperature of -47°F.
