The sugar pine (Pinus lambertiana) is in the Pine family. It’s drought tolerance is Medium and requires a minimum temperature of -28°F.
The sugar pine is propogated by Bare root, Container, Cuttings, Seed. With a bloom period in Spring, the fruit/seed period begins in Spring and ends in Summer.
The sugar pine is Native to NV. It requires precipitation between 25 and 90 inches of rain annually.
While a plant species may generally thrive and fruit in Nevada, you may be in a climate that isn’t optimal.
Consult your local garden supplier or continue researching in order to find plants, shrubs and ground cover that match your specific hardiness zone, rainfall and direct sun.
