A member of the Currant family, the common name for Ribes montigenum is gooseberry currant. Requiring a minimum temperature of -3°F, it has a High tolerance of drought.
Native to NV, the gooseberry currant is common in food forests. It grows in areas with a minimum of 10 inches of annual rainfall.
You may live in a micro-climate or area of Nevada where some species don’t thrive or fruit.
