You might find the following plants in a New Hampshire food forest. These are all routinely available through many garden suppliers.
In areas with an annual rainfall of between 10 and 276 inches, you might find the lingonberry, which is Native to NH.
Known as having a Low drought tolerance, the lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) is in the Heath family. It requires a minimum temperature of -62°F.
The fruit/seed period of the lingonberry runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Cuttings, Seed, Sprigs and has a bloom period in Summer.
Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in New Hampshire will thrive in your specific climate or area.
Take a weekend trip to your local garden supply store and learn more about which plants, shrubs and ground cover will be a great fit for your food forest.
We want to hear from you! Show us your awesome food forest by submitting a photo and we may feature your paradise!
