Known as having a None drought tolerance, the American lotus (Nelumbo lutea) is in the Lotus-lily family. It requires a minimum temperature of -36°F.
In areas with an annual rainfall of between 0 and 0 inches, you might find the American lotus, which is Native to MD.
The fruit/seed period of the American lotus runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Bulbs, Seed and has a bloom period in Mid Summer.
Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Maryland will thrive in your specific climate or area.
