The fruit/seed period of the bitternut hickory runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed and has a bloom period in Mid Spring.

In areas with an annual rainfall of between 25 and 70 inches, you might find the bitternut hickory, which is Native to IN.

Known as having a High drought tolerance, the bitternut hickory (Carya cordiformis) is in the Walnut family. It requires a minimum temperature of -47°F.

Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Indiana will thrive in your specific climate or area.
