The fruit/seed period of the common oat runs from Summer to Summer. It si propogated by Seed and has a bloom period in Late Spring.

In areas with an annual rainfall of between 25 and 100 inches, you might find the common oat, which is Introduced to HI.

Known as having a Low drought tolerance, the common oat (Avena sativa) is in the Grass family. It requires a minimum temperature of -23°F.

Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Hawaii will thrive in your specific climate or area.
