A food forest is a multi-layered composition of food producing plant species. Implemented properly, a food forest is a low maintenance garden that combines trees, shrubs and ground plants to produce useful and edible food like fruits, seeds, nuts and herbs.

The Atlantic camas is Native to DC. It requires precipitation between 30 and 55 inches of rain annually.

The Atlantic camas is propogated by Bulbs, Seed. With a bloom period in Mid Spring, the fruit/seed period begins in Spring and ends in Spring.

While a plant species may generally thrive and fruit in D.C., you may be in a climate that isn’t optimal.
