You might find the following plants in a Connecticut food forest. These are all routinely available through many garden suppliers.
In areas with an annual rainfall of between 29 and 80 inches, you might find the shagbark hickory, which is Native to CT.
The fruit/seed period of the shagbark hickory runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed and has a bloom period in Late Spring.
Known as having a Medium drought tolerance, the shagbark hickory (Carya ovata) is in the Walnut family. It requires a minimum temperature of -40°F.
