The grain sorghum is Introduced to CO. It requires precipitation between 18 and 60 inches of rain annually.
The grain sorghum is propogated by Seed. With a bloom period in Late Summer, the fruit/seed period begins in Summer and ends in Fall.
The grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor ssp. bicolor) is in the Grass family. It’s drought tolerance is High and requires a minimum temperature of 47°F.
While a plant species may generally thrive and fruit in Colorado, you may be in a climate that isn’t optimal.
Consult your local garden supplier or continue researching in order to find plants, shrubs and ground cover that match your specific hardiness zone, rainfall and direct sun.
