Known as having a None drought tolerance, the American plum (Prunus americana) is in the Rose family. It requires a minimum temperature of -38°F.

The fruit/seed period of the American plum runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed and has a bloom period in Mid Spring.

In areas with an annual rainfall of between 16 and 40 inches, you might find the American plum, which is Native to CO.

Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Colorado will thrive in your specific climate or area.
