Native to BC, the silver buffaloberry is common in food forests. It grows in areas with a minimum of 15 inches of annual rainfall.
A member of the Oleaster family, the common name for Shepherdia argentea is silver buffaloberry. Requiring a minimum temperature of -38°F, it has a Medium tolerance of drought.
You may live in a micro-climate or area of British Columbia where some species don’t thrive or fruit.
