The fruit/seed period of the butternut runs from Fall to Winter. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed and has a bloom period in Late Spring.
Known as having a Low drought tolerance, the butternut (Juglans cinerea) is in the Walnut family. It requires a minimum temperature of -33°F.
In areas with an annual rainfall of between 25 and 80 inches, you might find the butternut, which is Native to AL.
Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Alabama will thrive in your specific climate or area.
