The squashberry is Native to AK. It requires precipitation between 8 and 180 inches of rain annually.
The squashberry is propogated by Container, Cuttings, Seed, Sprigs. With a bloom period in Late Spring, the fruit/seed period begins in Summer and ends in Fall.
While a plant species may generally thrive and fruit in Alaska, you may be in a climate that isn’t optimal.
Consult your local garden supplier or continue researching in order to find plants, shrubs and ground cover that match your specific hardiness zone, rainfall and direct sun.
