Organic Ground Coffee

10 (excellent) reasons to use organic ground coffee: http://bit.ly/TAYZ2o

Ground Coffee

There is a difference between consuming organic coffee and conventionally grown coffee. While a head of lettuce that was grown organically may have the same amount of vitamin C as a conventionally grown head of lettuce – and many would point out that even that assertion depends on many factors – the big differences are in the things that are added to conventional crops.

Don’t underestimate the power of pesticides. We know that almost all chemical pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides are poisonous. In large doses, they’re lethal and in people who are exposed on a daily basis they can cause infertility, cancer, and a host of other diseases. And pesticides are not well disposed of in the body. In fact, over a lifetime the effect of pesticides is cumulative.

So why would you drink coffee that’s grown with pesticides? Organic coffee is grown in a way that keeps both you and the environment safer. Shade grown coffee is protected from the sun by trees, which also play a role in hosting birds, which keep the bugs at bay, reducing the need for pesticides. When you brew a cup of coffee, don’t you want it to be as pure and fresh tasting as possible? Stick with organic.

Smoothies

Smoothies

Kids are not known to be the world’s biggest vegetable lovers. But a lot of them love milkshakes! Organic smoothies can be like a healthy milkshake for children. They come in kid friendly flavors like chocolate banana, strawberry, and berry, but they pack more nutritional punch than other kinds of dessert.

Milk

Milk

Are you lactose intolerant and missing the goodness of milk? Some farms produce lactose free organic milk, allowing you to enjoy the taste and nutrition of milk without the problems caused by lactose intolerance. This is done by including an enzyme that makes digesting lactose easier and more comfortable.

Soda

Soda

High fructose corn syrup is the sweetener most often used in processed drinks like soda. For those who want to avoid this ingredient, organic sodas are a great choice, as they are brewed with simple sweeteners like honey, stevia, or the natural occurring sugars found in fruit.

White Wine

White Wine

Organic may be a relatively recent idea, but the fact is that everything was grown organically less than 100 years ago. Traditions from the past were perfected over centuries in an effort to make the best white wines. They just happened to be organic white wine.

Red Wine

Red Wine

Many people opt for organic options because they’re worried about potential or unknown health effects. But there’s a strong environmental argument for going organic. Organic red wine is produced without putting harmful chemicals onto the plants and into the soil. The result is grape vines that don’t cause bird deaths and waterways free of run-off pollutants.

Energy Drinks

Energy Drinks

You had a late bedtime and an early morning wake up, and need something to get you going – but you are watching your waistline and want to avoid high calorie drinks. No problem! Many organic energy drinks on the market are low calorie beverages, giving you that much needed boost without interfering with your diet. These drinks replace higher calorie sugars with light sweeteners like stevia.

Beer

Beer

Most good organic beer is brewed by microbreweries. Everything else about the brewing process is the way you like it – small batches, attention to the details, and care with the entire process – but the key ingredients, hops and wheat, haven’t been grown with pesticides.
