The golden currant has a Mid Spring bloom period. Propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed, the fruit/seed period of the golden currant lasts from Summer to Fall.
While a plant may be listed as fruit-bearing in South Dakota, you might not have the best growing conditions in your specific area.
