About Mercer County Food Forests

The fruit/seed period of the pecan runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Bare root, Container, Cuttings, Seed and has a bloom period in Early Spring.

Known as having a Low drought tolerance, the pecan (Carya illinoinensis) is in the Walnut family. It requires a minimum temperature of -21°F.

In areas with an annual rainfall of between 28 and 79 inches, you might find the pecan, which is Native to OH.
