The cereal rye is propogated by Seed. With a bloom period in Early Spring, the fruit/seed period begins in Spring and ends in Summer.
The cereal rye is Introduced to OH. It requires precipitation between 8 and 50 inches of rain annually.
While a plant species may generally thrive and fruit in Ohio, you may be in a climate that isn’t optimal.
Consult your local garden supplier or continue researching in order to find plants, shrubs and ground cover that match your specific hardiness zone, rainfall and direct sun.
