The sawtooth sunflower has a Late Summer bloom period. Propogated by Bare root, Container, Seed, the fruit/seed period of the sawtooth sunflower lasts from Summer to Fall.
Surviving in temperatures above -43°F, the sawtooth sunflower is in the Aster family. It’s scientific name is Helianthus grosseserratus, and it has a Medium drought tolerance.
While a plant may be listed as fruit-bearing in New York, you might not have the best growing conditions in your specific area.
