In areas with an annual rainfall of between 13 and 150 inches, you might find the cowpea, which is Introduced to GA.

Known as having a None drought tolerance, the cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) is in the Pea family. It requires a minimum temperature of 47°F.

Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Georgia will thrive in your specific climate or area.

Take a weekend trip to your local garden supply store and learn more about which plants, shrubs and ground cover will be a great fit for your food forest.
