In areas with an annual rainfall of between 12 and 60 inches, you might find the common sunflower, which is Native to CA.
The fruit/seed period of the common sunflower runs from Summer to Fall. It si propogated by Seed and has a bloom period in Summer.
Known as having a Medium drought tolerance, the common sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is in the Aster family. It requires a minimum temperature of 52°F.
