In areas with an annual rainfall of between 8 and 15 inches, you might find the Barbary fig, which is Introduced to AZ.

Known as having a High drought tolerance, the Barbary fig (Opuntia ficus-indica) is in the Cactus family. It requires a minimum temperature of -3°F.

Not every plant species listed as a food forest candidate in Arizona will thrive in your specific climate or area.
